| | No World of Warcraft makes Norman cranky
As my sister stated below, I flop onto my bed quite regularly
now. Other than the fact that I am bored, the bed seems like an
ideal place for flopping becuase my desk chair sucks. Whenever I
feel like sitting back, that chair is simply unacceptable.
Why am I flopping in the first place? Well, checking my Xfire account,
I have spent a total of 66 hours on WoW. Take away half of that
becuase I spent two weeks before my 14-day trial on a private WoW
server and we get 33 hours. Considering all the times I neglected
to turn on Xfire while playing WoW it's easy to see where all my free
time went after I activated WoW.
I seem to have forgotten how else to spend my free time. Unable to log into my account, I stare at WoW news and forums
holding an endless debate in my head over the financial and temporal
issues behind subscribing to WoW. Funny thing about that blog
link in the last sentence. When I was starting WoW, I chose from
the PVP servers listed as "new" almost at random. I jumped in and
Dark Iron played just fine. After a few days, however, when I
tried to log on during peak internet usage hours, I had to wait in
queues. I attributed the fullness to teh fact that Dark Iron was
still listed as "new" rather than "full" or "high" as any of the older
servers were. Also, Dark Iron was at the top of the list of
servers. A few days later I'm scanning a WoW article and I see
the name of my server:
"It began with a simple post on the PvP webcomic site,
"the wife and I had an idea of making Horde characters on a PvP server,
and starting a guild to play with PvP readers. These are alt characters
just to play with you guys and have fun killing members of the
alliance." They formed the Guild called Panda Attack. Penny Arcade responded by forming their own guild named Knights of Arcadia. Mass immigration soon took place on the new Dark Iron server. Hostilities swiftly ensued!"
But I degress. Let's see. What was I doing with my free
time before I started playing WoW...? I guess I'm supposed to be
cranky. Well, I just know that I am. I don't feel like
explaining why.
I can already predict your responses, and you know who I'm talking
about. "No, Norman, save your money and your time. : /" "LOL,
LAMO, play on private servers."
Well, I've heard it already, screw ya'll.
Enjoy a picture of my Tauren hunter, BitokDePollo, and his trusty pet vulture, Vulcheh:

Overlooking Alliance
territory, Bitok and Vulcheh ponder what further adventures they may
have beyond their owner's 14-day trial.
As you can see, the terrain draw distance is limiting their view. Perhaps
coincidentally metaphoric of their hopes of continued
existance.../sniff
