| | I am going to find some aspirations.
When you read about my life in the to-be-published book, (this will be
in like 2080 or something of course) you will be thoroughly engaged and
interested.
Hopefully, it will be a book, but as I do not currently read, (though I
do not read at all yet plan on starting up again because I need to so
my brain doesn't turn to mush) this may be a video game about my life.
Yes, you will be able to play me at various stages of my growth. Of
course, the college me will be quite dull and unattractive and poorly
shaven, so you will probably not want to play this particular me. But,
as I was saying, it will probably be an RPG, maybe an adventure game. I
don't know how much traveling will be done, as I hate flying, but there
are ways around that yet...even if they don't master teleportation by
the time I die.
Back to my original point. I will no longer allow the vast ineptitude
that I feel hinder me from attempting to do things. Just because a
world's problem seems to vast for me to tackle, just because it seems
like there is little that I can do right now that will make much of a
difference, I will know that I am wrong in thinking that way. And even
if I cannot see the results before me, I can at least do something,
take steps forward, try new things. Life is to be lived. Duh. Taking a
step, any step, is better than flopping onto my bed in exasperation,
boredom, and general laziness every twenty minutes.
I refuse to have my life sucked away into screens of all kinds. I will control them, not the other way around.
I will stop asking questions. What can I do? What is there to do? What
should I do? Only because they render me immobile because I can't come
up with answers. Either I need to start working harder to come up with
an answer or just stop asking questions and just start doing. Just
start taking steps toward anything and everything and living my life
because it's my life, damn it.
I've changed my AIM icon. The new one has more action in it than the
old rubberduck thing. Cute as that was, it is time for a change.
Does Bush annoy anyone else? He landed in Louisiana and was briefed by
those in charge of rescue efforts. But it was merely a photo op! He was
wasting time focusing quite hard (you could tell by the expression on
his face) on trying to look concerned and nodding at appropriate
intervals. Not only was he briefed on the situation of the levees
(which he probably already knew) and the overall rescue efforts (which
he probably already knew), they had someone who was INVOLVED in the
rescue efforts come and start to bullshit (well, not in their minds but
come on) about how he wasn't prepared for what he saw, etc. They were
all in a row waiting to "brief the president" in front of millions of
tv cameras (to the comfort of the Americans watching at home?) instead
of doing their jobs! Get back to work! All of yous!
Books to Read:
--anything by Chuck Palahnuik
--perhaps things by Kurt Vonnegut
--"Girlfriend in a Coma" by Douglas Coupland
--"Checkpoint" by Nicholson Baker
--"Franny and Zooey" by J.D. Salinger (actually, I should ask my sister for her copy)
--"Persepolis" by Marjane Satrapi (a graphic novel)
to be added to at later dates.
Because when you're at a university, you might as well take advantage
of its resources. And the university libraries which are FREE are one
of those resources.
I should start working out to and show up my sister who is a lazy bum
and won't go to the gym. But apparently she claims she walks on campus
enough to make up for it. But still, she should start working out, too.
And oh yeah, another goal of mine: meet more people, develop more
relationships. Life's not just about the doing; it's about who you meet
along the way, and all that jazz.
Goodbye, old me.
Hello, new me.
I might even start shaving.
Just to show everyone I'm not a slob and that I actually do care about
the way I present myself to the world and how people perceive me
because I am a member of this society whether I like it or not.
